Party Membership
As a member of British Public Party – We will be the local party, which is based on either our Parliamentary Constituency or council area. We are entitled to vote in the selection of council and Parliamentary candidates, the elected officers who run the local party, and to have a say in local issues. The local party also elects members to represent it at regional and national conferences. We can stand for election to any of these posts ourselves. Our regional party. This covers part of the country and is responsible for co-ordinating elections, candidate approval and training, and regional policy. The English party. This is responsible for membership issues and co-ordinating policy across England. The Federal party. Every British Public party is a member of the Federal Party which has overall responsibility for management of the party across Britain. It runs the General election campaign and organizes elections for the party leader and president. It holds two conferences a year, a weekend in the spring and two days in the autumn. The conference decides on UK-wide policies and its representatives elect the committees that run the federal party.
An Independent Voice in Politics
Unlike the three main parties, the British Public Party don’t rely on the vested interests of big business or the trade unions. This means we will be a unique, independent voice in British Politics. We will raise almost all our money through the generosity of our individual members and supporters. This means that from time to time we will receive appeal letters from the party, to members just as we would from any charities or voluntary groups that we support. We recognize that not everyone is able to make extra financial contributions to the party, so please don’t take offence if we write to people and don’t fell pressurized to respond. Whatever role people decide to play in the party we value and thank the people for their involvement. Campaigning all the year round, with leaflets, surveys, newspapers and recruitment campaigns, cost money and they are vital for ensuring future success. Fundraising by and from members and supporters, both locally and nationally will build a strong party.
